GRAB - The Gloucester Road Alternative Bag Campaign - is a group of local residents, shoppers and  traders working to help Bristol’s Gloucester Road to become more sustainable - environmentally and economically.

GRAB wants to make Gloucester Road the first area in Bristol to go plastic carrier bag free.  Over 60 businesses have signed up so far, so they are well on the way!  Having started off talking to the independent traders that Gloucester Road is rightly famous for, they are now looking to tackle the bigger chainstores.

2QAB is working with GRAB to provide a range of support, including campaign coaching and strategic planning for the campaign.

Jayne has a broad experience of the private and voluntary sectors having run small and medium size businesses in both fields. Prior to joining 2QAB, Jayne was South West Regional Director for national charity The Scarman Trust, and worked for many years running a Bristol based charity providing domiciliary care to individuals with care needs in the city. Her early career experience as an Insurance Broker has provided her with business acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit, useful transferable skills that have helped inform her capacity building work in the voluntary and community sector. She has a strong and practical understanding of partnership working with a wide range of organisations and individuals in the voluntary, public and private sectors

An enthusiastic and effective communicator at all levels, Jayne works effectively alongside people in their communities, with regeneration professionals and with resource holders and decision makers.

A firm believer in the value of a coaching culture across all levels of personal, professional and community engagement, Jayne has many years practical experience as a coach and has received invaluable coaching support from others.

Jayne is an avid reader of contemporary and classical fiction, of biographies, history, politics and current affairs. She has an untrainable dog and has no interest in football.

Thomas is a really nice chap, everyone says so.

He’s done a whole lot of different stuff.

He also grows lots of vegetables in his garden and allotments, if you want any courgettes he has a lot right now.

Currently he is working on 2QAB’s website and marketing materials, as well as Chooseday and Bags from Rags.

GROFUN (Growing Real Organic Food in Urban Neighbourhoods) is a grass-roots, community lead inititative where teams of neighbours help one another set up back garden veggie patches and then reap the rewards of a mixed and locally grown ‘veg box’!

It teaches practical skills, address’s the problem of air miles and pollution and builds communites that are closer and more resilient to ever increasing energy shocks and food insecurity! Think about it, there’s only 3 days worth of food stocked in the supermarkets-what do we eat then?

Our aim is to create a culture where it is natural for young people to volunteer, and natural for organisations to support them in doing so.

We can help you develop new opportunities for young volunteers in your organisation or business, and support you to make volunteering something both you and your volunteers enjoy, benefit from and celebrate.
